Kadu Malleshwara Temple

 INTRODUCTION 

Kadu Malleshwara Temple it is a 17th-century A.D.Hindu temple dedicated to the Shiva located in the MAlleshwarm locality of Bangalore .it is one of the oldest temples in the city.Kadu Malleshwara Temple is constructed using Dravidian architecture during the rule of King Venkojirao Bhonsle of Thanjavur.

HISTORY 


Kadu Malleshwara Temple it is an 17th century temple ,it is one of the oldest temple in Bangalore located in Malleshwarm ,thetemple is dedicated to  Lord Shiva .

  History shows that this temple had a relation with the period of the Great Maratha leader Shivaji.
 One part of the temple, Nandieswara  (Basava Theertha), is in front of the temple. It is said to be the main source or birthplace the river.

The word 'Kadu' literally means forest, referring to the thick vegetation that marked the surrounding places. Malleswaram, the suburb gets the name after this historic temple.
