Ulsoor Lake - Oldest Lake in City

Ulsoor is one of the oldest lake and neighborhood in the city, Bangalore it is located in north Bangalore. it is one of the beautiful lake in the Bangalore

Ulsoor lake roughly it start from MG road, it was gifted to Kempe Gowda I by the  Vijayanagara Emperors ,it was built by the Kempe Gowda II it is the only  tank built by the Kempe Gowda kings in Bangalore
 The name ulsoor or Halasuru came because of jackfruit orchard near the Ulsoor Lake, and in Kannada name for Jackfruit  is  ‘Halasina Hannu’, the area came to be known as Halasuru.

There is booting in one part and another part it is used by the Defense MEG  (Madress sapperas)

TIMINGS

Morning 5.00 am to evening 7.00 pm it will be open
but the boating will open from 10 am to 6 pm
there is entry fee Rs. 20  + parking and for boating it is extra
and for boating it is  Rs.150  per head

NEAREST PLACES

Gurudwara is on the bank of Ulsoor lake in Bangalore
I MG ROAD shopping complex it is just 10 min walk from lake

DIRECTION
From majestic it is 12 to 14 km it takes 1.30 min to travel
From shivaji nagar it is just 6 km 30 min to travel

Ulsoor lake it is one of the Defence tranning area ,it is the place where we can go for boating in the weekends with the family
