Puttanna Shetty. Who served as the President of Bangalore city municipality.
The Constructed of Bangalore Town Hall (PuttannaChetty) was in the year 1935; Town Hall was built by Sir Mirza Ismail, the Dewan of Mysore .On March 6, 1933. The building was completed on September 11, 1935 at a cost of Rs 1, 90,000/-. It was inaugurated by crown prince Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wodeyar. The Town Hall is a stone structure in European Classical Greco-Roman style with a flight of steps leading to the entrance porch resting on Tuscan columns.
It has a seating accommodation for 1038 people. The interiors have been elaborately done in teak wood. The Town Hall was built to serve as the hub for entertainment and cultural activities. This building was the primary center for all cultural activities in Bangalore.
